This is where Rank Forge’s rank tracking really earns its keep. The Content Decay Detection feature runs on top of the same GSC data. It compares the last 28 days to the previous 28 days for every ranking post and alerts you when traffic drops beyond a threshold.
Workflow:
Without rank tracking integrated into the same plugin as the optimizer, this workflow doesn’t exist. You’d have to manually check GSC, open the post, use a separate tool to analyze, and track results yourself.
GSC data pulled by Rank Forge is stored in your WordPress database. Our Forge API backend only holds the OAuth tokens needed to fetch the data from Google — not the ranking data itself.
If you disconnect the GSC integration, tokens are revoked and historical data remains in your WordPress database until you choose to delete it.

The trade-off: GSC data is limited to queries that actually generated impressions for your site. You don’t get ranking data for keywords you don’t already rank for.
